What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
Writing a book, running a multi-million dollar company and raising two small children (with my amazing hubby) all at once. I didn’t sleep for what felt like years.

Who do you consider to be an Icon? Why?
Sir David Attenborough. Without him our view on this beautiful world we live in would be less colourful. He has transformed our view on the wild world and inspired action for our planet’s most precious species and fragile habitats

What is your Brilliance?
I have always had a genuine interest in the potential of others – in seeing their greatness, and I place tremendous value in the creation of limitless opportunity and hope for the future. Cheering people on brings me joy, and I experience the wins of others as my own. I am an extremely reliable and hard worker, but work feels like play to me because I love what I do and who I do it with so much that I have an unnatural capacity for productivity, purpose and passion.

What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
Having ten children – while refusing to give up on my side hustles, support for others, and my big audacious dreams. That and investing heavily in myself and the business and impact I wanted to create for the world – even when it did not make economic sense.

What are you most proud of with your work at Icons Incorporated?
This truly is the greatest greatness community on the planet. I am proud to be a part of a team that is investing heavily in terms of time, money and energy to create a safe space that allows others to bring their long lost dreams to life. I am proud of the fact that everything we do in supporting our clients is so authentic, powerful and practical.

What makes you Iconic?
I love getting out of my comfort zone – from free diving with sharks, to dancing with Oprah, to moving countries 4 times I love trying new things and facing challenges head-on. I pride myself on being a master relationship builder and storyteller, I’m passionate about using these skills to help brands and individuals thrive.

What is your audacious dream?
My dream is that I get to play a pivotal role in building a better future where everyone regardless of their background can flourish and showcase their unique skills – we’re all on the same team!

Greta Thunberg – Aside from the incredible work she does advocating for radical change, she is so passionate, and so unapologetically herself at such a young age!

What makes you Iconic?
It’s all in the mindset! Iconic brands do not just need marketing and communication support, they need a communication artist to support them as they design the business of their dreams. In a world easily distracted by noise, easily burdened by visual art and sound, a communication artist works with them to engineer, pioneer what others cannot see. Everything we do as communicators, as communication artists, goes back to people and how they experience life. How they think and see themselves and their world. Who they are, what they hope to become and how they define success. Whether a public figure, social influencer or visionary entrepreneur, people communicate as an act of connection. They breathe life into their stories as part of a shared human experience. When communication is understood as an act of connection above all else, we realize that communication requires more than words, more than graphics, and more than sounds to be successful. It requires the audience to connect, to experience the stories our iconic brands wish to share with them.

What is your audacious dream?
To live a life full of creation. I dream to continue to support iconic, passionate and driven artists and creatives as they share their stories with the world. In addition, I hope to continue to create art for the world to enjoy. I share my personal stories through journalism, poetry and mixed-media arts. 

Who do you consider to be an Icon? Why?
I have closely followed the growth and career trajectory of Oprah and believe her to embody the “Icon” title. Icons do not become iconic on accident. They do not always have the perfect history of success and acceptance along their journey. Oprah in many ways had a painful start to life. Oprah was told she was not worthy to be who she saw herself becoming. At times of life, she experienced loss and grief. She experienced discrimination for being a black, being female, not being perfectly thin or conventionally beautiful. She wanted to discuss topics that others found uncomfortable. Oprah saw her pain as fuel and an opportunity to challenge who she was and who she wanted to be. As a result, she not only achieved her goals, but then exceeded them. I do not believe we are done seeing who she will become and how she will impact the world. Love her or hate her, that is an icon.

What makes you Iconic?
Icons step forward in faith, often relentless in their optimism in the face of challenges and an unwavering commitment to their cause. They are often intimately connected to their “why” – a reason beyond ego, accolades and selfish pursuits. They are passionate and fiercely protective of their time and energy as they understand that this is our greatest asset. Much of what I do, as it relates to my family and my professional work, is cloaked in faith, optimism and commitment to a cause beyond myself. I am passionate about life and a careful steward of my time and energy. There have been several moments in my life in which I’ve had to bravely step away in faith from things that were no longer serving me and the life I was trying to build. The only way I believe I was able to make these bold moves was because I was fiercely connected to the “why” behind everything I do and pursue.I am an iconic mother, stepmother, wife, and publicist. I put all of myself into those roles!

What is your audacious dream?
I’ve always been a dreamer…my audacious dream is to live lakeside surrounded by love and laughter…independently wealthy, of course.

Who do you consider to be an Icon? Why?
Oprah is iconic in so many ways…I’ve always idolized her! She’s built an empire for herself, evolving along the way despite endless challenges, breaking negative family patterns and using her platforms for the greater good. Her work will leave a legacy for decades to come, and that is inspiring! She is the ultimate storyteller, and has had the courage to spotlight important social issues through her candid interviewing style. I just think the world of her!

I have a strong work ethic, and a results-driven mentality. I shine when I am able to tap into my creativity, and think strategically to accomplish goals. I enjoy working as part of a team and love to spread positivity!

The bravest thing I’ve ever done was becoming a mother. Being a parent is the most rewarding, challenging and fulfilling role I’ve ever had. To be responsible for a tiny human and consistently care for them definitely takes bravery!

I’m most proud of my ability to jump in and go full speed ahead! Within my first few weeks I was able to land full-page features for multiple clients. It’s great to be supported by such a dynamic team that pushes me to challenge myself and go even further.

In 2000, I moved to Minneapolis knowing absolutely no one. I got a job and an apartment, and within six months was taking classes at a local ceramics studio and gigging with my brand new coffeeshop band

When I had a heart attack at 31 I needed to be brave because I have just given birth to a premature baby, I had to be strong and keep it together and try to get well as soon as I care for him and the family. I decided to start working from home since then.
